3 Step guide to starting Muay Thai

Step 1: Choose a Training Plan

The first step to starting Muay Thai training at SHIFT Combat Sports is to choose a training plan. We offer a variety of plans to fit your experience level and goals, so it's important to choose one that's right for you. If you are brand new, we HIGHLY recommend our Headstart Intro Program. We have group classes for beginners, advanced classes for experienced fighters, and if you’re not sure then try our Bag Class Trial!

Step 2: Show up Early

After selecting a training plan, you'll want to show up a few minutes early. This will give you an opportunity to meet the trainers, tour the facility, and learn more about what to expect during your training. In the Headstart Classes, you’ll be introduced to the basics of Muay Thai, including stance, footwork, punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. These classes are designed to help you build a strong foundation in the sport and prepare you for more advanced training.

Step 3: Train Consistently and Gradually Increase Intensity

Finally, it's important to train consistently and gradually increase the intensity of your workouts. This will help you build strength, endurance, and technique over time. At SHIFT, trainers will work with you to develop a personalized training plan that meets your individual needs and goals. You'll be encouraged to set achievable goals and track your progress along the way.

Overall, starting Muay Thai training at SHIFT Combat Sports is a great way to improve your physical fitness, learn new skills, and challenge yourself. With the right plan, guidance, and dedication, you can become a skilled Muay Thai student and achieve your goals.
